Here at PCAO, we know that kids are safe and supported when their parents are safe and supported. For that reason we’ve compiled a few resources here for parents in Oregon who are looking for help, whether it be immediate assistance, parenting classes, or other support. This list is by no means exhaustive.

- 211info – call, text, or download the app and get connected to resources in your community, from energy assistance, to housing, food, and shelter.
- Oregon Health Plan – health insurance for those who qualify, and kids can qualify even if parents do not.
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – food benefits for those who qualify.
- Oregon Food Bank – access to food through a statewide network of food assistance sites.
- Oregon Parent Education Collaborative – regional collaboratives that offer evidence-based parenting education, much of which is free for parents.
- True Colors – LGBTQ parenting resources
- PFLAG – Support, information and resources for LGBTQ+ people, their parents, families, and allies.
- Black Parent Initiative (BPI) – BPI provides a range of services including parent coaching, parent training, and education.
- Self Enhancement Inc (SEI) – SEI provides case management, support, and networking to address potential barriers to maintaining a healthy family environment and a positive home-school relationship.
- Native American Youth and Family Center (NAYA) – helps native parents to develop skills utilizing the Parents Helping Parents curriculum and provides connection to critical supports that leads to overall family stabilization and success.
- Disabled Parenting Project – leverage technology in order to create opportunities for parents and prospective parents with disabilities to connect and interact, and serve as an information clearinghouse for relevant information about adaptive parenting.
- Latino Network – early childhood programs support parents as their child’s first teacher and prepare children, birth to five, for success in school and life.
- Oregon Kinship Navigator Program– statewide resource and referral service for grandparents raising grandchildren and other relative caregivers.
- Grandfamilies.org – resources for grandparents raising grandchildren.
- OHA Prenatal and Newborn Guide (English/Español)
- Early Head Start – provides child development and family support services to infants and toddlers and their families, and to pregnant women and their families.
- Maternity Case Management – When a woman sees a Maternity Case Manager, she is helped to deal with health, social, economic, and dietary parts of her life that are important for a healthy pregnancy and in planning for her labor and delivery.
- MothersCare – provides coordination with pregnancy testing, prenatal care, OHP assistance, referrals and education resources at no charge.
- Relief Nurseries – provides therapeutic early childhood services and comprehensive family support, including alcohol & drug recovery support services.
- OHSU Family-to-Family Health Information Center – supports families and caregivers of children with special health needs to navigate the complex health care systems. Staffed entirely by parents of children and youth with a variety of health conditions, we provide free one-to-one support, training, and printed materials to families and the professionals who serve them.
- Office of Developmental Disabilities Services – offers supports to children and families ranging from in home family support, intensive in-home supports and 24-hour services in foster care or residential placement.
- OHSU – National and state resources for alcohol and drug treatment.
- The Hotline – highly trained expert advocates are available 24/7 to talk confidentially with anyone in the United States who is experiencing domestic violence, seeking resources or information, or questioning unhealthy aspects of their relationship.
- Oregon Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence – find shelters, advocacy programs, and legal assistance near you.
- FEMA – tips and information for how to best prepare your family in the case of a disaster.
- OptionB – whether you or someone you love is going through a painful experience, we’ve collected videos, articles, recommendation from experts, and other resources that can help.
