PREVENTION HAPPENS IN PARTNERSHIPPCAO is the coordinating and convening organization for the statewide Child Abuse Prevention Collaborative (CAP). Formed in 2018, this collective effort currently represents 21 statewide organizations joining together to prevent violence and abuse. We believe we are stronger together and much more effective when we are working in partnership, sharing resources and combining efforts to achieve our collective goals.
The Collaborative has been supported by both foundations and state agencies who share our vision that a more coordinated and connected network of prevention services is critical for the health and success of our families, communities and state. The CAP Collaborative is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between local community organizations who are implementing prevention work and state level agencies that drive policies and economic priorities. Together, we are working to create a deeper understanding of comprehensive violence and abuse prevention in Oregon, unify the language and messaging used, identify opportunities to strengthen collaboration, and prioritize “upstream” approaches to stop harm from happening. |
