The development and work of Prevent Child Abuse Oregon (PCAO) is driven and guided by community voice. The wisdom of people with lived experience and those with professional experience relevant to preventing child abuse provides the foundation for the organization and serves as the voice of PCAO in promoting primary prevention. The CLC serves as an accessible avenue for people from diverse experiences and circumstances to share their gifts and make a meaningful contribution towards child abuse prevention work within the state.
CLC Members have lived experience or work currently (or recently) in the prevention or intervention fields of child abuse and neglect.

Community Leadership Council Member Responsibilities
- Time Commitment- Attend quarterly meetings and an annual retreat/planning session.
- Co-develop PCAO’s long term strategic direction- with the Board and staff.
- Provide input into collaborative projects with other organizations and networks, like the Child Abuse Prevention Collaborative.
- Act as a key contact in their community to bring multiple perspectives to the council from family, friends, colleagues and other community members.
- Act as an ambassador for PCAO.
CLC Members receive a stipend to compensate for the time and out of pocket expenses incurred while serving as a Council member. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Reach out to us at [email protected] for an application.
